Back pain and knee injury healed

Several years ago, after all our children were in school, I began taking care of a neighbor's toddler. I began to experience pain in my lower back, which I attributed to lifting the child. The problem continued for a couple of years. One day I was shopping with my husband when something gave way in my back. I could barely walk, but he helped me get home. I was serving as our church organist, and, though it was difficult, I was able to play for the service that evening. Afterward, however, I was unable to move my legs to walk, and my body was twisted out of shape.

When we reached home, I called my teacher of Christian Science for treatment through prayer. I don't recall what truths he shared with me, but the healing took place quickly. Just a few days later we attended a square dance in celebration of the Fourth of July holiday, and I danced every dance — two or three hours of constant dancing! In the twenty years since this healing, I have had complete freedom of activity. I have dug our garden and shoveled snow, feeling that my strength and flexibility are a way of glorifying God.
