Prayer heals pain and restores strength

Through diligent prayer, I was healed of a painful lump in the lower groin area. One Sunday morning I woke very early in great pain and called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. About an hour later I decided that I should call someone to substitute for me as First Reader for that morning's church service. This done, I tried to be receptive to God's healing love, but the pain was so intense that I could focus on little else. As the morning progressed, the problem seemed to worsen. Just before my husband came home from church, it became clear to me that I needed to go to a Christian Science nursing facility, where I could receive dedicated and caring assistance. My husband, who is also a Christian Scientist, supported this decision, and the arrangements were made.

The nursing care that I received over the next five days was excellent. All my needs were met, and healing began. By the fourth day I was strong enough to return home.

About a week after I came home, a dear church friend called me.
