Blaise forgives her friend

One day when Blaise was at school, her friend Mary told her, "I hate you! I'm not your friend anymore." This bothered Blaise a lot during the next few days. It felt horrible to not be liked by a friend. She talked it over with her grandmother. Blaise said, "It wasn't very loving for Mary to say that she hated me, was it?" They agreed that this sort of talk was not good. Mary needed to be more careful to think before she spoke. Blaise also felt that Mary needed to see that her careless words hurt Blaise's feelings more than Mary may have thought. They showed what Mary was thinking and believing. We choose what we say, and therefore it should always be the best.

After swimming, Mary came home in the car. Blaise sat in the front, and Mary was in the back with Blaise's sister Clementine. Blaise said, "Mary, why did you say that you hated me last Friday?"

"Mary, replied, "Oh, I don't hate you today. I only hated you last Friday."
