THE BIBLE'S ARC OF GRACE

In the city adjacent to the one where I live, a photographer has taken an arresting photo of the National Library. In the foreground of the picture is the lake, and beyond, on the far side of the water, is the library, which is most beautifully spanned by the wide arc of a rainbow.

Daily, there are countless people who search for all kinds of information in libraries around the world, and they are able to satisfy their need for knowledge from the wealth of books available. Of all these, the most valuable and widely read book in the world is the Bible. Its glorious value lies in knowledge of God it disseminates, and in the examples of spiritual living and healing it encourages people to learn and master.

It is one of the greatest "how to" books of all. The Bible's rules for living encourage their practice, and the experiences it recounts tell of others' proofs of the truth to be found in it. The Apostle John wrote, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1), and truly the Bible's inspired word does come from God.
