Long-standing smoking habit dropped overnight

The following is a testimony that I have felt for some time I should share to aid others in overcoming addiction to nicotine, and possibly other narcotics and drugs.

Christ Jesus said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This statement applies to any addiction that seems to have control over us. The truth, in this case, is that a mesmeric, material sense of a drug's power (e.g., cocaine, nicotine, medicines) has no control over man, no matter what we seem to have accepted as true.

I had been a cigarette smoker for twenty-four years (three packs a day), and had been trying to break the habit. I had tried "cold turkey" as well as gradual approaches over long periods of time, but was never able to break this habit.
