"I think when teens do get involved [in church] they are excited about it . . . . Church used to be the focal point of the community, and now there are so many other things to foucs on," says Janet Wilkinson, director of religious education at St. Cecelia's Church in Ashland, Massachusetts.
"I think getting young people back has to start with helping kids feel like they are part of the community. Kids are social and when they feel a part of something, they feel good about themselves and want to do more."
