TIM AND DWIGHT ANSWER THE QUESTION, WHY DOES GOD SPEAK TO US?

Tim was very glad to have Dwight as a visitor in Sunday School for a day. They were working on the story of Moses, especially the part about God calling Moses to do the big job of getting the children of Israel out of Egypt. While Moses was taking care of sheep one day, he noticed there was a bush that had caught fire. But the weird thing was the bush didn't burn up! (see Exodus 3:1-10)

The class started talking about how God communicates with man. Moses understood that the burning bush was a signal that God was communicating with him. It got his attention, and then he was able to listen to God's direction about how to help the children of Israel. The boys agreed that today there aren't a lot of bushes burning without turning into ashes. But God still communicates with His children. Rather than seeing burning bushes, we hear God in our thoughts. His good ideas come to us, and they help us.

The teacher asked the boys why they thought it was so important for God to speak to His children. The answers were so good, the teacher wrote them down.
