Painful animal sting quickly healed
Our family of three was vacationing in Mexico. On the morning of our departure we decided to visit the beach one last time. My husband and two-year-old son had been wading in the ocean while I stayed on the beach. I was startled to see my husband carrying our son to the shore. I went toward them, silently affirming God's love for His children. I could hear our son crying and saw his foot bleeding. My husband said he thought the boy had been stung by a stingray or skate.
I quickly wrapped him in a beach towel, and we walked the short distance to our accommodations, all the while speaking to him of his direct spiritual relationship to God, affirming that he couldn't be hurt in God's kingdom of love. At the time, I didn't feel our son was hearing anything I was saying because of his intense crying, but I trusted that God's presence would communicate itself to the boy.
When we reached the apartment, I was grateful for my husband's calm demeanor when he looked at me and said, "Have no fear." I asked him to go to a telephone and call a Christian Science practitioner to treat us through prayer.
