FOLLOWING GOD'S GUIDANCE GETS RESULTS

One evening, outside of church, I brushed snow off a person's back. Later I realized that a large gold ring was missing from my finger. It was too dark to look for it that night, so I returned at daylight the next morning, armed with a broom and a rake, ready to sift through the inch or two of snow on the ground. After searching the area for more than half an hour without success, I became discouraged.

Then the thought came, "You've done all the human things; it's time you prayed." At that point I put the tools away and quietly listened for God's guidance. In just a few minutes I was impelled to look in a different direction. My eyes went to a snowbank about fifteen feet away. As I looked I saw a small rectangular hole in the otherwise smooth surface. I walked over, reached in, and retrieved the ring. I quietly rejoiced that God, divine Mind, is always present, always our best help.
