Prayer heals painful rash and injured wrist
Over eighty years ago my mother had been told by doctors that she would never have any children that would live after birth. After she took up the study of Christian Science, she had three children who lived to maturity. I am one of those children.
I would like to tell of a recent healing I had of a painful rash. In my prayers I held to the thought that now I am God's perfect child, a spiritual idea, harmonious, perfect. A rash was not God-created. He created everything good. There was no erroneous condition to be gotten rid of. Psalms says, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (46:1). I knew there was no other refuge or help—God is the only help we need. One day while I was out walking, the conviction came to me very clearly that Christian Science heals. I knew right then I was whole and perfect. I knew it with my whole heart. In a few days the rash faded completely away and the discomfort disappeared. I'd seen another proof that Christian Science heals.
Another time while I was on a hike with a group of people, I tripped and fell, injuring my wrist. A doctor and a nurse in the group expressed much concern about the injury, so I let them put a bandage on it. I spent the next morning in my room, praying to understand the fact that there are no accidents in God's kingdom.
