I am so grateful to know that even in the midst of a challenging situation I can turn to God and receive immediate blessings.
I proved this at a time when I had been bedridden with a severe case of influenza. There was an epidemic of the ailment in the area where I lived, and many local residents had been hospitalized. As I felt seriously ill and physically exhausted, I decided to seek prayerful treatment from a Christian Science practitioner.
There was immediate improvement. This encouraged me to get out of bed and have a shower. The shower taps were rather tight, so I had to exert all my energy to turn one of them on. Suddenly a deluge of very cold water gushed into my face, and I was shocked by the unexpected impact. When I opened my eyes I found that I couldn't see.
