HEALTH & HEALING
"What if ...?"
"What if I don't get healed?" Many a person wonders this when he or she is ill. What does the Bible say? "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:2, 3). No "what ifs" there!
Such healing, according to the Bible, comes through God's power and nothing else. As we read in the New Testament: "Is any among you afflicted? let him pray .... is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up" (James 5:13–15).
No one proved this better than Christ Jesus. He told his disciples before he left them that if they stayed with his teachings, they, too, would heal the sick (see Mark 16:15–18). And he also said that we all, not just his disciples, could heal as he did if we stayed with his teachings (see John 14:12). He didn't limit any one of us.
