The desire for direction and guidance in our lives is natural. But choosing the right guide, particularly when one is on a quest for greater spirituality, is extremely important.
This issue explores the search for guidance in two ways: first through "Finding the right guide on the journey to truth" and second through an editorial on hypnotism that argues strongly against yielding our thoughts to anyone else's control.
Also in this issue: the Bible series for young people continues with part two of "Jesus and his parables." Under "Health & Healing" you'll find "What if ...?" It explores some common questions about spiritual healing, and includes a nearly instantaneous recovery from the symptoms of a cold.
"Womanhood uplifted by Christ" delves into the spiritual facts that free women from second-class status. "Healing and forgiveness—after abuse" tells in a practical way how gaining a spiritual view of ourselves wipes out the pain and resentment associated with abusive relationships.
This week's "News & Trends" emphasizes peaceful transitions—looking first at Hong Kong, which will be turned over to China on June 30. It also includes comments from a South African who went through such a change when the government of his country dropped apartheid and became more democratic.
