How much have things changed in the last two thousand years? You may answer, Lots! Instead of traveling on bicycles, automobiles, buses, trains, or airplanes, people in Jesus' time walked or rode animals such as donkeys, camels, or horses. Instead of using light bulbs and watching television, people used oil lamps and told stories about the history of their family and nation.
But are we really all that different from people then? We can see, from what Jesus taught, that his listeners wanted and needed to understand more about God and His laws in order to answer questions like these:
• How does the kingdom of heaven come on earth?
