A good deal has happened since my last testimony was published in the Sentinel in 1971. In 1989 my daughter accompanied me on a trip to New York, which was timed so that I could attend my Christian Science Students Association meeting. From New York, we went to Bal Harbour, Florida, to spend ten days in a hotel on the beach. On the third night of our stay I woke breathing with great difficulty. My lungs were very congested.

At nine o'clock in the morning I reached my Christian Science teacher by telephone, and he agreed to treat the condition through prayer. After twenty minutes the excruciating pain gently drained away, and never returned. My teacher had called my attention to this passage by Mrs. Eddy in her Miscellaneous Writings: "To impersonalize scientifically the material sense of existence—rather than cling to personality—is the lesson of to-day" (p. 310), and he told me not to personalize error.
