Recently I was reminded of a healing that took place a number...
Recently I was reminded of a healing that took place a number of years ago. I had to stay in bed for about three weeks, being very weak and feverish. During this time, a Christian Science practitioner prayed for me and I prayed for myself as well. At one point the practitioner recommended that I be grateful to God. I knew this was good advice, but I needed to think about it. I was jolted when I realized that if I wasn't being grateful, I was in fact denying God—denying His goodness, His willingness and perfect ability to take care of me. I was quite clear that I didn't want to deny God! So I expressed gratitude throughout those days and nights. I was healed. And on my first day back at work, people commented on how wonderful I looked. I remember thinking about how Moses' face shone after he had seen God and received the Ten Commandments (see Ex. 34:28–35). My healing was a result of seeing (understanding) God, and that was what shone forth on my face, not the residue of some serious physical illness.
I would also like to express my deep gratitude for the Sentinel radio programs. They have often given me wonderful healing ideas. For example, a few years back, a friend and I started a small business. I'd heard a speaker on the Sentinel program say that we all were about our Father's business. So I could see that our business was really God's business. My work was to express Godlike qualities, which enabled me to be wise and of service to our clients.
Other ideas from the program helped me to see that our supply came from God, as the natural evidence of His love and care for us. Our supply wasn't our clients' burden. Our clients were also supplied by God, and we were all blessed by His outpouring love. I never had anyone fail to pay a bill. I also prayed often, recognizing that Mind, God, was in control and that there was no mortal mind belief (of economy, personality, human will) to influence any of our associations. I always had all the work I was able to do.
