A QUESTIONS & ANSWERS EXCHANGE
Q. When I am awake all seems well. In sleep, dreams take over, and there is violence and all that is wrong. How can I get rid of this monster?—from a reader in New York
A. I have found this comment helpful: "... if you fall asleep, actually conscious of the truth of Christian Science,—namely, that man's harmony is no more to be invaded than the rhythm of the universe,—you cannot awake in fear or suffering of any sort." It's from Retrospection and Introspection by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 61).
A mother's arm around her child and the feeling of safety the child feels in those arms are but a tiny symbol of the love of God. Love is the only power, and Love is ever present whether you are awake or asleep.
