One of my earliest healings occurred soon after I started to study Christian Science. I had joined the Christian Science organization at my university. One evening during one of their testimony meetings I began to feel unwell. At the close of the meeting, I went to get up but was overwhelmed by nausea and dizziness. Initially I felt fearful because I was in the centre of London, and knew that I had to make a journey by bus and train to reach my home in the suburbs. With my head in my hands, I turned wholeheartedly to God in prayer and recalled the words of Psalm 46 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (verse 1).
These words were not just a pious hope, but were demonstrably true.... the feelings of sickness and nausea just melted away.
