I would like to express my deep appreciation for the healing...
I would like to express my deep appreciation for the healing truths I have learned in divine Science. Some years ago I had a problem with ingrowing warts in the heel of my foot. I prayed and studied daily to know, "There is no disease," as Science and Health assures us (p. 421), to clear my thought of fear so I would be receptive to the truth, and to gain the inspiration needed to prove my actual spiritual perfection. A passage from the Bible also strengthened me: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God" (Isa. 41:10). I knew that as I put God first in my life and trusted in Him, I would be healed.
On two occasions, when I needed to walk extensively, I found myself free of the problem and thought I had gained my healing, only to have the problem resurface once the immediate need had been met.
One afternoon as I lay on the couch praying and studying continue reading. I was being forced to turn completely away from the problem and rely solely on God. Closing my eyes, I said, "Dear God, I have done all I know how to do. Now You show me what I need to know." Then like a ray of light the following words came to my expectant thought (words that my children had learned in Sunday School): "There is no spot where God is not, for God is everywhere." And suddenly I knew with clarity and total acceptance that right where the pain and false growths claimed to be, was God—nothing but God! With a heart filled with gratitude I rejoiced, jumped to my feet (before I could not bear to have my heel touch the floor), and then on bended knee thanked God over and over again for a complete healing. The warts I realized were gone; they had never been any real part of me.
