This is National Bible Week in the United States, and much of what you'll find in this issue speaks about the Bible. In the focus section, an interview, "Genesis: what it tells us about God and man," is our contribution to a dialogue started by Bill Moyers through his public television series, Genesis: A Living Conversation. Mr. Moyers is a prominent American journalist and has also served as a Southern Baptist minister.
While our interview Karl Sandberg isn't meant as a reply, it is an opportunity to consider some of the scholarship on Genesis, and Mary Baker Eddy's inspired chapter on that book of the Bible in Science and Health with Key to Scriptures. Look for more discussion of Genesis in upcoming issues and on the radio edition of the Sentinel.
Also this week, a new series begins. "Introduction to the Bible" is geared to young people and others who may not be well acquainted with the Scriptures. Last, but not least, we acknowledge the Thanksgiving holiday, celebrated this week in the United States, with a couple of articles from authors who have discovered the value of gratitude in their lives.
