What Elizabeth learned from the earthquake!
Elizabeth knows what an earthquake is. It is when the earth's crust moves or shakes. But when an earthquake happened where she lives, she felt afraid. Her mommy and daddy held her very close and comforted her. They told her how much they loved her. They also told her always to remember that she is safe in God's love.
Elizabeth was almost ready to start Sunday School, where she would learn about God as Love. Elizabeth would soon be able to look up all by herself the Bible verse that reads in part,"... God is love" (I John 4:8).
There is another book that is read in the Christian Science Sunday School along with the Holy Bible. It is Scienceand Health with Key to the Scriptures. A very kind and good woman named Mary Baker Eddy wrote the book. It helps people understand an important message of the Bible—that not only is God Love itself but God's love is all good and all around us.
