Not guilty!
"We are not guilty!" said the leader of a group of local teenagers the day after two small bombs exploded on the roof of my store.
You may be wondering why such a thing happened. Well, my husband and I had purchased a small beach store and real estate business, which we operated during the summer months. The previous owner had allowed the young people to come into the store and read the magazines, sit on the floor, and hang around whenever they wished. When we took over the business we put a stop to all this, and there was quite a backlash. I ran the store during the week, and my husband came down on week-ends. Mischievous vandalism began to disrupt my days and nights.
I turned to God daily for guidance, reading the weekly Bible Lesson each morning, which is found in the Christian Science Quarterly. Though troubled over the goings-on, I don't remember that I was ever really afraid.
