The freedom that comes with proper identification

Have you ever been stopped and requested to show some identification? Without hesitation you probably pulled out your driver's license or passport or perhaps a student ID card, and this was readily accepted. Most of the time it is no trouble to identify yourself this way.

But what if you are challenged to give proof of your spiritual identity? How do you prove that you are truly the child of a perfect Father-Mother, God? Perhaps you would start by affirming that God made you in His image and likeness, and that you are the evidence of His perfect being. You would turn your thoughts away from the limited, material picture of man and acknowledge that God's wholly spiritual creation is the only creation. You would know that God made everything that was made and that He made it good. You then would be understanding who you really are. And this understanding would be progressively demonstrated.

Do we have to accept sickness and limitation as part of our identity? No, we do not. We can deny any claim that God's man could ever be less than His perfect creation, because we know that God, infinite good, could not make sickness or limitation. Such errors can never be part of man's being. Man is upright and free; and there is no law of matter with the power to limit him. Man is always under the control of the one Mind, the divine Principle, which forever maintains man's spiritual identity. As we replace a mortal, or material, concept of man in consciousness, we see clearly that evil is never part of man's identity, and we begin to prove our freedom from disease and discord.
