When I was seven years old I became ill with what a doctor called inflammatory rheumatism. Again at the age of fourteen, I was in bed five months with this same disease. The doctor told my mother that this illness would occur every seven years.

When I was seventeen my family found Christian Science, and I enrolled in Sunday School. I began reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures and also the Christian Science Bible Lessons.

My twenty-first birthday had long passed when I realized I had not been troubled with that disease again, and the healing has been permanent ever since. I am sure it came about through my study of the textbook and the Bible Lessons.
