Let's help each other soar!
Many people today yearn for meaningful fellowship and a greater sense of community. The desire to feel united with others is natural since we are all, after all, brothers and sisters. We are all the children of God.
Mary Baker Eddy states in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health: "It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established" (p. 467). Mrs. Eddy also refers to brotherhood in her poem "Love" when she likens "our spirits" to "brother birds, that soar and sing" (see Poems, p. 6).
Quite often, great lessons can be learned from nature and its creatures. A closer look at the behavior of certain birds provides insights into how we can reach out more effectively to others.
