God is Love
God is Love. This fact has been demonstrated over and over again in my life. God loves His children so much that He blesses us all with limitless good. I would love to share one of these many blessings.
A student in my classroom had come to us from another school where he had been abused. He did not trust authority figures, and had outbursts when disciplined. I started praying to see that this boy and the other children in my class—indeed all children everywhere—are the reflections of God. I came to the realization that God was the teacher of these children. I read in Science and Health, "The entire education of children should be such as to form habits of obedience to the moral and spiritual law, with which the child can meet and master the belief in so-called physical laws, a belief which breeds disease" (p. 62). I began to see that God's children are never imperfect, but always whole and good.
Some days it was difficult to hold the child's spiritual perfection in thought because of what I saw in his actions. But I persisted in keeping my thought in line with God's idea, affirming that all I could express was love for this child. And I saw continuing improvement in his behavior. He expressed more of those inherent spiritual qualities that I understood were given to him by God. He expressed more calmness and responded in a more loving manner to those around him.
