Christian Science originally came to our family through my mother after the First World War. After surgery for internal haemorrhaging she was told she would never be able to bear children, but was healed when she turned to Christian Science.
While I'm most grateful for healings of physical disorders I've had through Christian Science treatment, I'm also grateful for changes in character, the purifying of motives, the overcoming of acute self-consciousness, and a discovery of abilities I can use in God's service.
I have seen God's guidance in so many ways. For instance, I had never traveled in an aircraft until comparatively late in life. While I had had no obvious terror of flying, as the time for my very first flight approached, I began to experience anxiety. I turned wholeheartedly in prayer to God and affirmed my constant safety as His loved, spiritual idea. This brought reassurance.
