"Rise up, and stand forth"
Afraid to let others know you're studying Christian Science? Don't be. They're sure to be blessed by witnessing your spiritual healings.
When Christian Scientists have a challenge—and they do from time to time, like anybody else—it's often quickly and quietly healed before anyone else knows anything about it. But it doesn't always happen that way. Sometimes there's something more to be learned. A delayed and publicized healing, however, can often be a big blessing to many.
A number of years ago, I told my boss I was quitting my job in industry to become a full-time Christian Science practitioner, helping and healing others through prayer. I'll never forget his reply: "You're gonna be a what? You've got to be kidding! You're no religious kook!"
I reassured him I wasn't, but told him I was going to do this and gave him a date for my departure. Naturally, the whole office eventually got wind of it, and I got lots of questions about Christian Science.
