I Began keeping a journal over two years ago, in which I give thanks for God's blessings. I also jot down things that can use prayerful attention—a physical problem or challenges in a personal or work relationship, for example—and often write out my prayers and note the answers I get as I listen for God's Word.
As I recently thumbed through my journal, I was struck by how quickly my prayers have been answered. Oftentimes I will have forgotten a problem until I look back and realize that, had I not written it down, I might have neglected to give thanks. As I strive to learn more about God and my true identity as His child, I find a growing dominion over fear, frustration, limitation, and disease of all kinds.
After our marriage, my husband and I earnestly desired to move from a large metropolitan area to a smaller town. I very much wanted our move to be guided by God, not by our own calculations and outlines of how it should happen.
