How wonderful it is to wake up each day with joyful expectancy of good! For many years I dreaded beginning each new day because of insecurity and a feeling of never being able to "measure up."
In spite of these negative feelings I struggled to be good and to do good, because I was raised in a Christian home and attended an orthodox church and Sunday School. I felt there was a God "up there somewhere," but I never felt close to Him until I found Christian Science.
My husband of eighteen years had lost his job and was drinking to excess when I was introduced to this wonderful religion. I can remember singing Hymn 207 in church with tears streaming from my eyes, as Mary Baker Eddy's words brought a sense of release and a peace I had never known.
