"Health is not a condition of matter, but of Mind; nor can the material senses bear reliable testimony on the subject of health" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 120). This passage by Mary Baker Eddy has meant much more to me since a healing I had many years ago of anxiety and fearfulness.

Christian Science had been in my home while I was growing up, and I'd had wonderful healings as a youngster. But then I drifted away from practicing it.

Suffering from extreme fear and nervousness—symptoms of agoraphobia—I prayed to be led out of Christian Science or further into it, whichever God deemed right for me. Thinking how easy it would be to go to a doctor, I did so. He found my blood pressure to be very high, gave me a prescription, and told me to return in one week. After a few days on the drug, I realized that I felt no better; this wasn't true freedom, but bondage to a foreign substance. In that short time I was ready to turn back to the study of Christian Science.
