The study of Christian Science alerts us to the divine intelligence...
The study of Christian Science alerts us to the divine intelligence that's always at hand. We can use it to gain inspiration that restores and maintains harmony in our lives.
Recently an open sore appeared on one of my legs. The condition persisted for several weeks. A friend reminded me that I didn't need physical healing as much as I needed the spiritually regenerated thought that leads to a greater understanding of God and to healing. Mary Baker Eddy described regeneration this way: "It is the appearing of divine law to human understanding; the spiritualization that comes from spiritual sense in contradistinction to the testimony of the so-called material senses" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 73).
I asked God what I needed to know to regenerate my thinking. These questions came to thought: "How could this sore develop, since God is All, and He being All, how could something bad develop? Was He not always omnipotent, even when the problem occurred?" I saw immediately that because God always is omnipotent, the spiritual truth was that sickness could not happen to His children, and it never happened to me. God is the perfect Mind, which knows and imparts only harmony to me, His perfect child.
