I have been associated with Christian Science for almost forty years, and a serious student for thirty of those, so I think it's high time I submitted a testimony of healing to the Sentinel.

During these many years I've had many proofs of our Father-Mother God's constant, ever-present care and guidance. The first healing I can attribute directly to Christian Science had to do with periodic heavy drinking of alcoholic beverages. (I had been healed of smoking some years earlier, and although I personally had not prayed about it, I realized my wife was certainly praying for herself about my smoking habit.)

I began drinking rather heavily in my late teens, and this carried through my Army years and early married life. Looking back on it all, I realized that what seemed to be fun at the time was really not fun—I had missed an awful lot of good times because of having had too much to drink.
