It is time for me to express in writing my gratitude for the wonderful blessings my family and I have received through the study of Christian Science; for class instruction and for having attended a Christian Science Sunday School.
Several years ago I began to date a young man whom I thought I would eventually marry. For me this seemed the fulfillment of a desire to be married and have a family.
Despite religious differences, we had a lot in common and cared very much for one another. But after a couple of years it became clear that he had no intention of marrying me. However, we still had a great deal of difficulty ending the relationship. I truly felt that if we broke it off, I would lose my chance for happiness and for a family of my own. I felt that if I was just patient, this man would decide he indeed wanted to be married. It was an agonizing time, filled with emotional ups and downs. We went on like this for another few years, unable to make any decision about what to do.
