As of this writing, the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, and the United States are considering almost unconditional aid for the people of Russia. Several billion dollars will be made available during the next year. There is a growing sense that even in hard economic times nations must extend the hand of brotherhood here as well as elsewhere—and extend it adequately.
What nations are doing, people can do also. We can extend our own hands wherever we perceive a need, and seek God's direction in how to do this effectively.
The Bible tells us that God "hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth" (Acts 17:26). Does it really matter if you know or understand this? Yes, it does, especially when you understand the power of God's infinite goodness and bring this to your prayer.
Then you are helping humanity to demonstrate that God, divine Love, embraces all of us in His family. This is the way to genuine peace—and it's needed.
