And he ran to meet him
(Luke 15:11-24)
How do you meet them—
those that are "yet a great way off,"
downtrodden, alone,
poor in spirit,
hungering?
Meet them running.
Go without restraint—
not setting up hurdles of blame and guilt
with queries of why? or how?
that only detain both of you on your way ...
homeward.
Hasten, quicken your steps, reach out.
Glory to behold the children of God.
Joy to witness the human need met.
Hurry to declare
their innate innocence.
Meet them running.
