As my husband and I were riding our bicycles one Sunday...

As my husband and I were riding our bicycles one Sunday afternoon, my front tire became caught in a railroad track and I was thrown off the bike into a line of automobile traffic. My three-point landing involved the head, elbow, and hip. My husband was able to pull me out of the way of the cars.

I was instantly grateful I had not been hit, and at the same time yelled, "God is Love." Although at first it felt as though everything inside my head had been shaken loose when it hit the pavement, I never felt any pain after that immediate declaration of Truth.

Listening in prayer for the "still small voice" of God, I heard clearly, "Not my will, but thine, be done." I realized that all power belongs to God; mere human will and physical strength could not help me. Hymn No. 10 in the Christian Science Hymnal begins, "All power is given unto our Lord, / On Him we place reliance ...." This uplifting thought got me up, on my bike, and sustained me during the ride home.
