My testimony is long overdue, although my gratitude for Christian Science cannot be expressed in mere words. Our family four generations of Christian Scientists.
My mother was my best friend and the one I turned to for prayerful support for my young family. She was so dear to me that when she passed on I was unable to cope with the great feeling of loss and I felt ill. I became so incapacitated that a housekeeper had to care for my husband and two young children for a period of time.
Step by step, through Christian Science prayer, I regained strength and was able to take over the care of my home. This was not a quick healing, and I had several setbacks; but slowly, with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to realize my dominion over grief and illness, and to rise above the debilitating thoughts of weakness, fear, loss, and depression. My thoughts turned from death to Life, to my Father-Mother God who is always with me. I pondered Psalm 91 and this verse from Psalm 118: "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord."
