I am impelled to write and attest to the healing power of Christian Science, and to express my gratitude for all the good Christian Science has brought into my life.
When I was a small child, I was stung by a wasp on the earlobe. My mom comforted me and declared spiritual truths about God, my inseparable relationship to Him, and His all-encompassing care. The pain subsided and I was back to my normal, happy self in no time, much to the amazement of my grandmother, who was a medical nurse.
One Sunday morning when I was in my early teens, I woke to find my hands and feet swollen and inflamed. I was very uncomfortable and upset. My mom encouraged me to keep my thought focused on the truth of God, but the physical discomfort was disturbing, and I could not turn my thoughts from it in order to find a sense of peace.
