I submit this testimony of healing with a great deal of gratitude.

One day while cooking I accidentally picked up a hot stove burner with my bare hand. I never looked at my hand. The first thought I had was that there is no law of God that says touching or holding something that is very hot must result in a burn. I wanted to live only by God's laws, not by material laws. I contemplated God's law of harmony and the Ten Commandments, and I couldn't find anything in them to support injury or accident. Mrs. Eddy states: "You say, 'I have burned finger.' This is an exact statement, more exact than you suppose; for mortal mind, and not matter, burns it" (Science and Health). The pain immediately ceased, and I continued cooking. Later I noticed there wasn't a mark on my hand.

Another quick and happy healing involved one of our daughters. Being a parent is a serious responsibility, and I don't think I would want to carry out this responsibility without the help of Christian Science. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy refers to God as "the Father and Mother of [us] all." This gives us the safe feeling that there is something greater than our human intuition to turn to in raising children and taking care of their health needs.
