There are so many things I am grateful for in my study of Christian Science. Through each healing I am learning step by step the spiritual way as demonstrated by our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and I am proving the power of God and the falsity of a material concept of man.
At one point I developed a thyroid growth, a condition I had experienced a number of years before becoming a student of Christian Science. The reappearance of this growth frightened me considerably. I began to study Christian Science furiously, barely able to go about my regular work.
Soon I realized that the debilitating fear stemmed from the belief that man is mortal and subject to disease. I saw I must overcome this error by seeing it for what it was—a lie. This statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy came to mind: "Metaphysics resolves things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul."
