In January 1991, I traveled to California to assist my son and daughter-in-law with their newborn twins, a boy and a girl. Before I left home, they told me there was a problem with the boy that was considered extremely serious by the doctors and probably not treatable medically. They asked me to pray for him.
Immediately I turned with all my heart to God and absolutely refuted the dire prognosis, acknowledging God as the one creator, who creates perfection only, the expression of Himself, and knowing that imperfection in any guise has no power—it must be a total lie. I saw clearly the purity and innocence of this little one, infinitely loved of God, wholly spiritual, and knew that God's law was operating right then.
After I arrived in Berkeley at my son's home, I continued praying steadfastly with these truths. I often held the child and felt deeply God's tender care and love for him. I was completely aware of perfection and free from fear. I asked my children to know only the perfection of this little one as God's image at all times, and they were obedient to this request. (My son was raised in Christian Science. My daughter-in-law is not a Scientist but had asked me questions and also had asked for help at various times.) We all remained calm and fear was quelled.
