Health & Healing
From Health & Healing, February 1991 "Christian Healing in the Future" by Stephen Parsons, a vicar of the Church of England who is active in the Christian healing ministry
"This article is ... a plea for an Ecumenical Movement within the Church's Healing ministry. Such a movement does not demand a watering down of the various emphases of the different approaches but the mutual enrichment of all through listening, talking and thinking together about what is done when healing is offered in Christ's name. Then we can look forward to the church structures ... taking the whole Movement with a much greater seriousness and attention instead of, as at present, seeming to find the whole thing much more comfortable to ignore.
"Let us go forward into the 1990s with a sense of God's power and readiness to heal without being afraid on the way to face up to the challenges and uncertainties that this quest throws up for us to ponder and think about. As Newman's hymn says: 'Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see the distant scene; one step enough for me.' "
