I have known of Christian Science for twenty years

I have known of Christian Science for twenty years. It came to my attention through a relative who accepted this teaching but did not practice it. Her mother had been healed through Science. Because of what she told me, I investigated this religion for myself.

About two years later a disturbing lump appeared on one of my breasts. One of my relatives was a medical doctor, and I had heard this condition discussed as being very serious. As a result of prayer, the pain disappeared, but the lump remained. Time went by and there were other challenges to meet, including my husband's passing, which I felt very deeply. We had been very close for thirty-four years, and he was a marvelous man.

At one point I decided to take class instruction in Christian Science, which furthered my spiritual growth in understanding God and His infinite goodness. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy states: "Suffering, sinning, dying beliefs are unreal. When divine Science is universally understood, they will have no power over man, for man is immortal and lives by divine authority." These words became clear to me after I had class instruction. It became evident to me that disease has no reality and has never touched God's perfect, spiritual man.
