Christian Science has been loved and practiced in our family for over three generations. I have experienced and witnessed the effectiveness of spiritual healing on numerous occasions.

As a child, I suffered from severe attacks of asthma over a period of about three years. I was unable to climb more than two or three stairs without losing my breath, and I often struggled for air. I always enjoyed reading the articles for children published in the Sentinel. I especially liked the part when they were healed. I decided to trust God also. My mother prayed with me, and on several occasions a Christian Science practitioner was called for prayerful support. We refused to accept that my life as God's child could be restricted in any way. The attacks of asthma diminished and finally disappeared completely. I ran on the track team and swam competitively for many years and remained completely free of any breathing difficulty.

Another time I was kept home from school because I had a skin condition known as impetigo. It covered my face and neck and seemed to be spreading rapidly.
