Even simple truths heal!
When held with childlike faith and trust, even simple truths have profound healing power.
Sometimes it takes children to show us just how powerful even the simple truths of Christian Science are. I've never forgotten an incident that occurred when my son was about six years old. One day he was allowed to play football with the "big boys." During the play he took a tumble, but because he wanted to be a "big boy," he did not cry but picked himself up and went on running.
When he was having his bath that evening, he noticed a large bruise on his leg, and, oh, he was so proud! To him it was a trophy of battle.
The next day, when he went to the Christian Science Sunday School, he proudly showed his bruise to his classmates. His teacher saw that the class could learn a useful lesson from this experience. She asked my son what he would say if he was told that, in reality, there were no such things as bruises. He laughed and said he'd know she was kidding because he could show her his.
