Christian Science has been the joy of my life, and there have been many healings in my family. My husband attended a Christian Science Sunday School throughout his childhood. What I saw and loved in him was the spiritual qualities he learned to express through his study of Christian Science, and they remained true and constant throughout the fifty-eight years of our marriage.

I began the study of Christian Science when we were married in 1913. My first healing was one of frequent, severe headaches. One evening we visited my husband's aunt, who was an earnest student of Christian Science. I could not eat because of a headache. She said, "Would you like me to help you through prayer?" and I said, "Yes, please." Very quickly, there was release and comfort. I sat down and ate a good dinner. The headache was gone, and there has not been a return of a headache in more than seventy years. After that experience I began to study the Bible Lesson (outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly) and to attend a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, regularly.

There have been many evidences of God's guidance and provision throughout the years. Through prayer a goiter disappeared in a short time. At one time, when I was very busy teaching music, a painful condition developed in my hand. I am so grateful for my loving husband and for the Christian Science practitioner, who always answered my calls for help even though they were wakened many nights when the pain was severe. This condition was completely healed, with no recurrence.
