Last summer I went to drama camp two days a week

Last summer I went to drama camp two days a week. I was so excited because I was going to play the lead in Peter Pan. Then one day while I was walking to rehearsal, an older boy, who was in the play with me, came up and called me a bad name for no reason. I tried to ignore it and forget about it, but I couldn't. So when I got home I told my mom. She thought about calling the director, but she didn't do anything drastic.

A couple of days later, one of my friends from camp told me that the same boy was calling me names behind my back. That really upset me. So I told my mom again. Then we talked about how the older boy was in truth God's spiritual child the same as I was. We decided that since God is all good, this boy must really be all good, too. In Christian Science Sunday School I had learned that "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good" (Genesis). I kept thinking about that, but I was still scared to be around the boy.

Then, a few days later, we were having s'mores (chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers) for snacks. He said he wanted some more. I remembered that he was God's creation, so he couldn't harm me. I wanted to show him that I was friendly, so I gave him my other s'more and he said thanks. When I got home that day I told my mom what I had done. She said that idea had come from God, and she was glad I had listened to what God had told me to do.
