Some years ago I suffered from bunions on my feet
Some years ago I suffered from bunions on my feet. I was not a Christian Scientist at the time, and the medical specialist I consulted told me that I would have to have an operation to correct the trouble so I did. He warned me, however, that the removal of the bunions not be lasting and that I might have to have another operation in about six years.
Six years later, as if on schedule, the condition recurred and was worse than before. The following year I was introduced to Christian Science by a friend. As I had seen Science practiced effectively in her life, I had a desire to learn more about this teaching.
A librarian at a Christian Science Reading Room gave me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I was longing to learn about God—a God I could never seem to understand as a child.
