"In my seven years at Americans United, I have grown in my understanding of and respect for many of the faith communities in this country, especially Christian Scientists.
"As a church that frequently suffers from the ignorance of the larger population, they have taken some severe hits in the court of public opinion. Still, Christian Scientists know the value of religious freedom. Perhaps only when a people face the specter of the loss of liberty do they come fully to cherish it."
